We have had quite a few customers ask this question before and as such we have found that the Peterson PM421 lights you have installed on your 2000 Eagle Boat Trailer are 6-1/2" long x 2-5/16" tall and as such the best replacement option is the Miro-Flex LED Trailer Tail Light # STL22RB.

While TecNiq does not offer the Mini Rectangular LED Boat Accent Light # TN47FR with a smoke lens they do have the Covers # TN44FR & # TN94FR in black. These hide a majority of the lens and only allow the end with the LED's to be seen. If you prefer to have this portion be smoked out you can cover them similarly to how some smoke the tail lights on their vehicle using black paint mixed with clear to get a smoked appearance. The extra pin on your boat trailer's connector is most likely a reverse lock-out for your surge or hydraulic trailer coupler. The extra circuit is tied into the reverse light circuit of your vehicle. When the vehicle transmission is shifted into reverse, the reverse light circuit energizes and activates a solenoid in your coupler, which allows you to back the trailer without the brakes applying.

We have an adapter you can use to provide your boat trailer with the reverse light signal its surge coupler solenoid needs to allow you to reverse the trailer. You can use any of the adapters shown on the linked page but I recommend the Tekonsha option, part # 20036, since over the years we have found their wiring products to be the most reliable. The blue wire will splice into your reverse light circuit's wiring and then connect to the plug on the adapter.

It sounds like you are trying to go from a 5-pin flat connector on your 2017 Toyota Highlander to a 7-way connector on your Ranger boat trailer. This type of connector is not made since the 7-way wan only designed to be used on trailer that require either a charge line or electric actuated trailer brakes. If the hydraulic surge actuator on your boat trailer has an electric reverse lock out, you'll need a connection to the reverse light circuit on the truck. Look for a small solenoid located at the rear of the actuator with a wire tied into the trailer connector.

We do have an adapter to go from a 4-Way on a vehicle to a 5-Way on a trailer. You can use # 20036. The extra blue wire will get wired into the reverse light circuit on the vehicle. The 5th wire on a boat trailer 5-Way is usually for an electric reverse lockout.
